Create a member account, then apply from the affiliate flow. We review brand fit and promotional methods — approval is not guaranteed, and past approval can be revoked if promotion turns deceptive.

Be ready to describe where you will share links (site, newsletter, social, etc.). Spam, fake scarcity, or impersonating Friend in LA staff are not acceptable methods.

Disclose affiliate relationships per FTC rules wherever you share links. Clear “#ad” / affiliate disclosure keeps you compliant and protects the brand.

Use Profile → Privacy to manage visibility, distance sharing, and related controls the product offers. Those settings shape who can find you in discovery and how much location context others see.

Blocking someone cuts interaction both ways where enforced. You can also adjust preferences for who you want to meet so fewer wrong-fit profiles see or engage with you.

People within discovery rules and your preference settings can see profiles you make available. If you tighten who can see you or who you want to meet, fewer members will find your profile in nearby discovery.

Blocking cuts interaction both ways. Event hosts and confirmed attendees may see limited RSVP information for that event — enough to run the door list, not a public dump of your full profile.

Staff may access account data for safety, support, and legal compliance. That access is for operations, not for browsing profiles socially.

Meet in public in Greater Los Angeles — a busy café, daytime patio, or well-lit venue with staff around. Tell a friend who you are meeting, where, and when you expect to check in.

Arrange your own travel. Do not get into a stranger’s car on a first meet, and do not invite someone straight to your home. Leave if anything feels wrong; you do not owe a full date.

Keep early chats in the app when you can so report/block tools stay available. If plans move to text, still trust your instincts the same way.

Block stops further messages, likes, and profile views between you and the other member where the product enforces it. Use block when you want contact to end immediately.

Report sends the case to moderation with a category and optional notes. Start from the profile or conversation tools, or open Report. Add facts — what happened, when, and any media — so reviewers can act.

We may warn, suspend, or remove accounts based on evidence. Outcomes are not instant; blocking covers you while the queue works. Retaliatory false reports can also violate guidelines.

Never send money, crypto, or gift cards to someone you met online — even if the story is an emergency, investment tip, travel fund, or “verification fee.” Real members do not need you to pay them to keep chatting.

Be wary of fast off-platform pressure (“text me on WhatsApp only”), love-bombing in days, military/ overseas oil-rig stories, or investment pitches. Scammers often avoid video or public meets in LA.

Friend in LA will never ask for your password or payment outside official billing. Staff will not DM you asking for gift cards. Report scam patterns immediately and block the account.

No. Phone Verified, Admin Identity Verified, and Elite Member describe specific checks or peer qualification — not a guarantee of offline behavior, honesty, or chemistry.

Elite is not a background check. Admin Identity Verification confirms a live review process, not that someone will treat you well on a date in Los Angeles. Phone Verified only confirms number control.

Use judgment, public first meets, and reporting tools the same way you would with any stranger. Badges are useful signals; they are not a safety shield.

It is a vetted peer circle, not a louder Free/Plus/Premium upgrade. After a $499 non-refundable setup fee, admin approval, then $99/month or $999/year, approved members get Elite Lounge, Elite-only profiles, and Elite events.

Paying never grants Elite automatically. The setup fee starts review; denial does not refund the fee. Read the public overview before you apply so the bar and pricing are clear.
