1. Agreement

These Event Terms supplement our Terms of Use, Community Guidelines, and Refund & Cancellation Policy. By RSVPing, purchasing a ticket, joining a waitlist, or attending an Event, you agree to these Event Terms.

2. Definitions

• Event — an in-person or hybrid gathering organized or co-hosted by Friend in LA for members (and guests only if expressly allowed).
• Member Event — open to phone-verified members who meet the Event’s eligibility rules.
• Elite Event — requires active Elite status (approval + subscription/standing as applicable), not Premium payment alone.
• Host — Friend in LA staff or designated volunteers running the Event.

3. Eligibility and account standing

You must have an active Friend in LA account in good standing and meet each Event’s published eligibility (membership tier, Elite status, age minimum, gender mix rules if any, etc.). We may refuse or revoke RSVPs for policy violations, safety risk, or inaccurate eligibility. Hosts may check government ID at the door for age-restricted venues.

4. RSVP, capacity, waitlist, and tickets

• RSVP confirms your seat within published capacity while your RSVP remains active.
• Paid tickets are charged at checkout; displayed prices include disclosed fees where applicable.
• Waitlist order does not guarantee admission. If a seat opens, we may notify you with a limited claim window.
• Transferring tickets or RSVPs to others is prohibited unless the Event expressly allows guest passes or transfers.
• Repeated no-shows may affect future RSVP privileges.

5. Venue privacy and communications

Exact addresses for private venues may be withheld until closer to start time (often 24–48 hours) and shared only with confirmed attendees. Public venue names may appear earlier. Do not post private venue details on social media or share them with non-attendees. Event reminders and updates may be sent by email/in-app notification.

6. Conduct at Events

You must follow Host instructions, venue rules, and Community Guidelines. Prohibited conduct includes harassment, unwanted touching, hate speech, illegal drug activity, weapons (except as required by law for authorized personnel), and refusal to leave when asked by Hosts or venue security.

Hosts may remove participants immediately for safety or serious violations. Removal for cause may result in no refund and account enforcement.

7. Alcohol, substances, and health

If alcohol is served, you must meet legal drinking age and drink responsibly. Do not pressure others to drink. You are responsible for your transportation decisions. Do not attend if you have symptoms of contagious illness that would unreasonably risk others; Hosts may refuse entry consistent with venue policy.

8. Assumption of risk

Events involve travel, public venues, and interaction with people you may not know. You voluntarily assume ordinary risks associated with group social activities, including the risk that other attendees may misrepresent themselves. Friend in LA does not guarantee the conduct, compatibility, or identity of attendees beyond the limited checks described in our verification materials.

In an emergency, call 911. Friend in LA support is not an emergency service.

9. Photography and media

Some Events may include photography or short video for community marketing. We will disclose active photo areas when practical. You may opt out of identifiable marketing use by telling a Host on site; we will make reasonable efforts to honor opt-outs in future materials, though we cannot control third-party attendee cameras. Do not photograph others in a harassing or non-consensual manner.

10. Cancellations by Friend in LA

We may cancel, postpone, or change venue/time due to weather, venue issues, safety, low attendance, or force majeure. For paid tickets, we will refund or credit according to the Event page and Refund Policy. We are not responsible for your travel or incidental costs unless required by law.

11. Cancellations by you

Cancel through the app within the refund window listed on the Event page. Late cancellations and no-shows generally forfeit payment. Free RSVPs should still be canceled promptly so waitlisted members can attend.

12. Third-party venues

Venues are often independent businesses. Their house rules, dress codes, and liability policies may also apply. Friend in LA is not responsible for venue operations outside our reasonable control.

13. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Friend in LA’s aggregate liability for Event-related claims is limited to the ticket price you paid for the specific Event giving rise to the claim (or US$0 for free Events), except for liability that cannot be limited (including certain liability for gross negligence or willful misconduct where applicable). Personal injury claims are subject to applicable California law.

14. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify Friend in LA against claims arising from your conduct at Events or your breach of these Event Terms, except to the extent caused by our gross negligence or willful misconduct.

15. Changes

We may update these Event Terms. The “Last updated” date will change when we do. Event-specific pages may add rules that also apply.
