Affiliate program
Partner with Friend in LA to refer new paying members and earn commission on qualifying net revenue — with transparent tracking, hold periods, and published terms.
10% default commission
Approved affiliates earn 10% of qualifying net membership and eligible add-on fees attributed to their referral link or code. The rate is configured in basis points (currently 1000 bps) and may change for new affiliates with notice in the Affiliate terms.
Free signups alone do not generate commission. Conversion happens when a referred user completes a qualifying purchase after clicking your tracked link within the attribution window stated in terms.
Qualifying revenue
Commissions apply to net amounts Friend in LA actually collects on eligible products — typically Plus and Premium subscriptions and qualifying one-time add-ons marked as affiliate-eligible in the catalog. Taxes, processor fees, discounts, and chargebacks adjust the net base.
- Refunded transactions reverse associated commission.
- Disputed charges may be held or reversed pending outcome.
- Self-referrals and circular household referrals are prohibited.
30-day commission hold
Commissions enter a hold period of 30 days after the qualifying charge clears. This window covers refund and dispute windows before amounts move to payable balance.
Payouts occur on the schedule defined in affiliate terms — typically monthly once you meet the minimum threshold and have valid tax documentation on file.
Refund reversals
If a referred member receives a refund or chargeback on a commissionable purchase, the related commission is reversed from your pending or payable balance. Negative balances may offset future earnings.
Abusive referral patterns — incentivized fake signups, spam, misleading claims about verification — can forfeit commissions and terminate the partnership.
Application
Apply when you have an audience aligned with Friend in LA's adult, Los Angeles–focused community — newsletters, podcasts, local influencers, community orgs, or complementary businesses.
We review applications for brand fit, promotional methods, and compliance history. Approval is not guaranteed. You must disclose affiliate relationships per FTC guidelines wherever you share links.
Dashboard preview
Approved affiliates access a dashboard showing clicks, attributed signups, pending commissions, hold status, and payout history. Each conversion links to the underlying transaction reference for support inquiries.
Marketing assets — approved copy blocks, logo usage rules, and UTM guidance — are available inside the dashboard. Do not imply Friend in LA endorses your unrelated products or guarantees dating outcomes.
Terms
Participation is governed by the Affiliate terms, general Terms of use, and Privacy policy. Commission rates, hold days, and eligible products may update with notice.
Affiliate FAQ
Free, Plus, and Premium are self-serve memberships you can start and manage from the product. They differ in daily likes, discovery tools, and other entitlements listed on Membership.
Elite is a separate peer-qualification path: a $499 non-refundable setup fee, admin approval, then $99/mo or $999/yr. Paying the setup fee never grants Elite automatically.
Feature packs (Super Likes, Spotlight, Profile Boost, verification products, etc.) may appear in Billing when your membership does not already include them. Compare the live catalog before you buy.
- Self-serve: Free, Plus, Premium — details on Membership.
- Elite: setup fee + approval + subscription — Elite info.
- Manage purchases anytime at Billing after sign-in.
Feature packs are one-time purchases such as Super Likes, Spotlight, or Profile Boost. They add a burst of visibility or actions without changing your base membership tier.
In Billing we only show packs your membership does not already include. If Premium already bundles a tool, you should not see a redundant pack for the same entitlement.
Elite members who already cleared identity requirements are not asked to repurchase Admin Identity Verification. Other packs still follow the catalog rules for your account.
- One-time add-ons, separate from monthly/yearly plans.
- Billing hides packs your plan already includes.
- Buy and review history in Billing; compare tiers on Membership.
Signed-in members cancel from Billing → Manage billing. That stops renewal at the end of the period you already paid for, unless a specific product says otherwise.
Access typically continues through the period already paid. Canceling does not automatically delete your account or remove your profile — it just returns you toward Free entitlements when the paid period ends.
Elite subscription (after approval) is managed separately from Free/Plus/Premium. Canceling Plus does not cancel Elite, and leaving Elite does not wipe a Free account. Delete the account only if you want full removal.
- Cancel renewals: Billing → Manage billing.
- Paid access usually lasts through the current period.
- Account deletion is a separate settings action if you want to leave entirely.
Membership fees are generally non-refundable once a billing period begins, except where required by law. Canceling stops future renewals; it does not usually refund days already started.
The $499 Elite setup fee is always non-refundable whether you are approved or denied. That fee pays for review, not for a guaranteed seat in the peer circle.
Verification appointments and event tickets follow their product rules and our Refund policy. Open support with invoice or ticket references if you believe a charge qualifies for an exception.
- Subscriptions: generally non-refundable mid-period except as law requires.
- Elite setup fee: non-refundable either way.
- Full rules: Refund policy; help: support.
Checkout runs through our payment processor (Stripe). Available cards and wallets depend on Stripe and your region — what you see at checkout is the live list for your session.
Friend in LA will never ask you to pay a member directly, wire crypto, or send gift cards for “verification,” “taxes,” or “travel.” Those are scam patterns. Official charges appear through Billing/Stripe flows only.
If someone claiming to be staff asks for payment off-platform, report the account and contact support. Do not send money first and ask later.
Update your payment method in Billing and retry. Card declines are often expired cards, insufficient funds, or bank fraud blocks — fixing the method usually clears the next attempt.
Past-due subscriptions may lose paid entitlements until the invoice clears. You typically keep the Free baseline while Plus/Premium features pause until payment succeeds.
If you were charged twice or see an unfamiliar charge, contact support with the approximate time, amount, and last four digits of the card. Keep bank statements handy; do not share full card numbers in tickets.
- Fix method in Billing → retry the invoice.
- Past due may pause paid entitlements until paid.
- Double/unfamiliar charges: support with time + last four.
Approved affiliates earn a configurable default commission (typically 10%) on qualifying net fees attributed to their link or code after a hold period. Free signups alone do not pay out.
Attribution follows the program rules: tracked referral, qualifying purchase, hold for refunds/chargebacks, then payable balance. Abusive self-referrals or cookie stuffing can forfeit earnings and get the account closed.
Public pages explain positioning; legal terms control the contract. Approved partners use the affiliates dashboard for links, stats, and payout requests.

- Dashboard: /affiliates for approved partners.
Commissions enter a hold period after a qualifying purchase, then may become payable if the charge sticks. That hold exists so refunds and chargebacks can reverse related commission before cash leaves.
Payouts are manual after admin approval — never automatic wires from this product. Expect a review step, and keep payout details accurate in the affiliate dashboard.
Tax documentation may be required before payout (for example W-9 or equivalent where applicable). Incomplete tax info can delay or block payment even when the balance looks ready.
- Hold period → payable balance → manual admin-approved payout.
- Refunds/chargebacks reverse related commission.
- Have tax docs ready; questions: support or Affiliate terms.
